Tiny Tim’s is a well-established independent registered charity which provides free therapy sessions to children and young people with disabilities, health problems and special needs. We are based in Coventry and due to our location help children mainly from Warwickshire and the Midlands, but we will see any family who can get to our faculties in the center of Coventry. Tiny Tim’s is one of the only organisations in the country to provide totally free therapy sessions to children and young people.
The object of the charity is to provide as many free therapy sessions as possible to children who need them with our limited resources. These sessions should be either not available to them on the NHS or affordable to their families in the private sector. The charity has continuously provided therapy, free of charge, to children with disabilities and special needs now for over 25 years.
Initially the charity only provided remedial massage and neuromuscular massage and free play sessions within our soft play area. We have now extended our services to include, Bowen therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy. There has been a steady increase in demand for our services; the charity now provides on average 3,300 treatments and 550, helping over a 100 families per year. therapeutic play sessions.
We work with children from birth to eighteen years old who suffer from a range of complex/acute health conditions including individuals with muscular dystrophy, down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, respiratory problems, behavioural issues, special needs, sensory/physical impairment to name a few, as well as assist with secondary problems. We know that our various therapies cannot cure these conditions, but we can help improve the quality of life for these children by reducing pain, increasing mobility, teaching coping mechanisms and building self-esteem, which then in turn helps the whole family.
