Let's take a look behind the scenes at what's involved in running a FindaBiz Networking group…
Each month FindaBiz Networking hosts seven networking events across the Midlands. Thankfully myself and Amanda no longer run all the FindaBiz networking meetings ourselves – especially as there are some on the same evening! Instead, our wonderful team of franchisees run the groups in Lichfield & Tamworth (Fritha), Telford (Flo), Kirby Muxloe (Kam) and Sutton Coldfield (Carrie). And what a brilliant job they do! The prep for the meeting starts, by making sure that the venue and speaker are confirmed for the next meeting, usually during or just after the last meeting. The details for the meeting are then promoted on our website and shared out on social media. The group organiser makes sure to call everyone who books to attend, to help them prepare for their visit. We also like to keep in touch with members during the month, so have 121 with members and encourage communication in the WhatsApp group. We also keep an eye out for local business news and events to share at the meeting, as well as updates on all the things FindaBiz Networking has going on. We prep our slides beforehand so all the information is up to date. We aim to arrive 20 minutes before the meeting start time, at 6 pm, to make sure the room is set up correctly and the food and refreshments are ready. We have a script and checklist to keep the meetings to our 50-50 format, 50% of the meeting is open networking and 50% is structured. We make time during the meeting to chat with the visitors, checking they have felt welcome and enjoyed their visit, and give them membership information. Each month we repeat this process for all seven of the FindaBiz Groups, creating FaB-ulous monthly networking events for our members. I have enjoyed opportunities to meet likeminded people and share opportunities that support both mine and their businesses!
