Where protection insurance work comes from
Protection insurance is bought on trust. People are deciding what would happen to their family or their business if they died or became too ill to work, and most would rather be introduced to an adviser by someone they already rely on than pick one from a search result. A FindaBiz group is built on that kind of introduction.
Each group keeps one seat per trade, so a Protection Insurance business that joins is the only one in the room. When another member hears a client mention a new mortgage, a baby on the way or a business partner they depend on, there is only one person to pass that name to. The seat in FindaBiz Hinckley is already taken. Seven groups still have it open, and they’re listed further down, along with the Protection Insurance members already in the network.
Protection Insurances already in our network
Each group holds just one protection insurance, so these are the businesses who own that seat in their group.

Who passes protection work on
Mortgage Advisers and Conveyancing Solicitors are often the first source. Buying a house is when many people start thinking about life cover and critical illness cover, and both trades see clients at exactly that point. Financial Advisers who concentrate on pensions and investments often prefer to hand protection to a specialist. A Trusts Wills Lasting Power of Attorney member is already talking to families about what happens if the worst occurs, and a policy written in trust fits naturally alongside a will.
Business clients come from a different direction. Accountants and Bookkeepers know which owners have no cover for a director’s death or long illness, and which partnerships have nothing in place to buy out a partner’s share. Human Resources consultants get asked about group income protection and death-in-service benefits when small firms start hiring. Referrals go the other way too, because your own clients need mortgages, wills and accountants.
How a FindaBiz group helps
Before a referrer passes on a protection client, they have to be comfortable putting their name to you. Members meet one to one between meetings to learn how each other’s businesses work, so a mortgage adviser in FindaBiz Nuneaton or an accountant in FindaBiz Sutton Coldfield knows what you cover, how you advise and what a good introduction to you looks like. That only comes from seeing people regularly, and the group makes sure that happens.
FindaBiz also runs free online networking every Friday, open to anyone with a free account. It’s an easy way to meet members from several groups before you choose one.
